Aims and Activities: To provide transport when it is needed for those in the community of Crowthorne and its environs unable to use public transport for whatever reason, with priority being given to the elderly and disabled persons. Our emphasis is to provide a service to those less fortunate in our community and, in doing so, enhance their quality of life. We feel we are offering an invaluable service to these groups who may otherwise be ignored. They are given the opportunity to participate in everyday events such as shopping or, for example, a visit to the theatre, which others take for granted. Transport is normally available most days a week, depending on the availablity of drivers. Our services include providing transport to and from the local churches on Sunday mornings, pre-booked outings, social events, lunches etc. This is a door-to-door service operated by local volunteers. A mileage or trip charge is requested, except on Sunday mornings. There is no other organisation offering a community transport service entirely for Crowthorne. Drivers: Each driver would typically do two trips per month. History: Organisation: Contact: |
