Get Involved In The Crowthorne Carnival
Preparations for the 2006 Crowthorne Carnival are well under way, but there is still time to get involved.
The theme of the Carnival is "Heroes and Villains". The Procession & Fete will take place on Saturday 1 July 2006. There will be a range of activities, including quizzes, exhibitions, competitions and sporting events, in the following week until Sunday 9 July.
Local organisations, schools and businesses should register as soon as possible if they want to take part in the Procession or run a stall at the Fete. In addition, events taking place during the Carnival week can be included in the programme, which will be distributed to all homes in Crowthorne in June.
Caroline Jones, vice-chairman of Crowthorne Carnival Association committee, said "The Carnival's main aim is to foster community spirit, so we want as many people involved as possible. It is a great way for residents to support their community. There are so many ways to be involved - organise or help out with an event, join the committee, or just take part in the activities."
Information and registration forms for the Procession & Fete can be obtained by writing to Crowthorne Carnival Association, c/o 13 Wellington Road, Crowthorne, Berks, RG45 7LJ, by emailing info@crowthornecarnival.co.uk, or by phoning John Taylor on 01344 761957.
