New Neighbourhood Police Officer for the Sandhurst area
PC Vanessa Coxhill has taken over from PC Steve Smith, as Neighbourhood Police Officer in the Sandhurst area. PC Steve Smith is now at Bracknell Police station as a Local Intelligence Officer.
Vanessa joined Thames Valley Police in September 2002, where she spent 2½ years on operational shifts, before temporarily transferring to the Crime Intervention & Detections Team (CIDT) at Maidenhead when it was first set up. Following a year within CIDT, Vanessa moved to Sandhurst as a Neighbourhood Police Officer in April 2006.
Vanessa will be working alongside PC Duncan Reynolds in Sandhurst and Little Sandhurst, as part of the neighbourhood policing team. Sgt Graham Thorne said “Vanessa is going to be great asset to the team and we are all looking forward to working with her”.
Vanessa said: “My main priorities are to gain a local knowledge of the area I service and establish the priorities the community would like me to meet. I intend to tackle the problems with anti-social behaviour and youth disorder, and problems of the use of mini mopeds especially in residential areas. I will also provide community support and be a direct contact for the residents of the Sandhurst area to Thames Valley Police.”
Residents of Sandhurst and Little Sandhurst are encouraged to pop down to their local police office on Friday 28 April to the police beat surgery where they can also meet with their local neighbourhood policing team. Between 6pm and 8pm, officers will be on hand at the police point in the Sandhurst Memorial Park to speak to residents about community and policing issues.
Anyone who wishes to speak to the Sandhurst police team before the surgery can contact officers on 0845 8 505 505.
