Three arrested after Sandhurst hub cap thefts
Three youths have been arrested after a spate of thefts from motor vehicles in the Sandhurst area.
On the night of Sunday 6 August to Monday 7 August, car owners in Gower Park, Munnings Drive, Lowry Close and Maple Close all reported the theft of wheel trims from their vehicles. Hub caps were also allegedly stolen from vehicles at a Ford dealer in Finchampstead Road, Wokingham.
On 8 August, a 16-year-old boy and two 17-year-old boys were arrested on suspicion of theft from motor vehicles. They have all been bailed until 5 September, pending further inquiries.
PC Vanessa Coxhill, who is investigating the incidents, said: “We believe that other similar offences took place at around the same time, but have not been reported to police. If your hub caps went missing earlier this month in the Sandhurst, Wokingham or Finchampstead areas, we would ask you to contact police with the details.
“We would like to reassure the public that we do take vehicle crime seriously and make every effort to bring the offenders to justice.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Coxhill on 0845 8 505 505. If you don’t want to speak to police or give your name, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
