Police appeal for Sandhurst witnesses
Sandhurst Police are appealing for witnesses after a 26-year-old man had his rucksack stolen in Sandhurst yesterday (31/05).
At about 4.20pm the man was walking along the High Street from Yateley to Sandhurst train station.
As he approached the junction with Caves Farm Close he was approached from behind and told by a man to drop his rucksack. He did so and the offender or offenders ran off with it.
There is no description of the offender/s because the victim did not turn around to look at them. He heard a man’s voice but believes there may have been a second man.
The rucksack contained a travel card, glasses, umbrella, lunch-box and pencil case.
PC Mark Wills, investigating the incident, said: “This incident happened in High Street and I expect there would have been a lot of people around. I would urge anyone who saw a man or men running or acting suspiciously in the area, or who knows anything about this incident to contact me as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Wills on 0845 8 505 505. If you don’t want to speak to police or give your name, please call the Crimestoppers charity on 0845 8 505 505.
