Crowthorne and Sandhurst

Here is the first Neighbourhood Policing update for the Finchampstead, Barkham and North Crowthorne, areas from neighbourhood specialist officer PC Andy Roberts:

The Finchampstead, Barkham and North Crowthorne neighbourhood team is now fully operational with all staff in place.

The team consists of:

One Neighbourhood Specialist Officer (NSO)
One Neighbourhood Officer (NO)
Four Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs)

This is an exciting time for the team as we are all keen to get out on the Crowthorne area and meet the residents and businesses to introduce the new team members.

I am the NSO and I have worked on this area for almost four years. I am looking forward to working with the new team of PCSOs and I would like to welcome PC Tom Thomas to the team.

Tom has been a neighbourhood officer for many years and has moved over from the Emmbrook area to work with me and assist in the day to day policing of the area.

The new community house is open on the Gorse Ride estate. The address is 17 Billing Avenue, Finchampstead.

I hold regular beat surgeries at the community house, during the day and also in the evenings, so that people who work during the day have a chance to meet us.

The dates and times of future surgeries will be advertised on posters and in the local press.

I am looking forward to meeting as many Crowthorne people as possible at these surgeries and would recommend them as an excellent opportunity for people to come along, meet the team and discuss any issues or concerns they may have.

We hope the varied times for the surgery will make us accessible to as many people as possible. There is no need for an appointment – just drop in.

The next surgery is on Thursday November 1 from 12pm – 2pm. Residents will be able to meet members of their neighbourhood policing team at the regular police surgeries from now onwards.

Speeding and other motoring offences are a concern in our area. This month, we will be working to carry out speed enforcement and seat belt checks, as well as cracking down on mobile phone use by drivers.
