Crowthorne police station needs you!
Crowthorne police station needs volunteers to run the front office, which is open to members of the public. This is an important role that supports the community and also provides an insight into the working of your local police.
Volunteers work on a rota which normally involves one four-hour duty per week, usually between 9am to 1pm or 1pm to 5pm. We currently need volunteers on Thursday or Friday morning or any afternoon.
The Crowthorne volunteers provide a high quality of service to the local community in Crowthorne and the surrounding area on issues relating to crime and community safety, and improving public access to Thames Valley Police.
The role of a volunteer is to ensure Crowthorne police station remains open at the advertised times, and to deal effectively with enquiries from members of the public, whether by phone or in person at the front counter. Some form completing is involved, as well as the recording of messages or information for police officers.
Full training is given, initially working with a full-time station duty officer and then an experienced volunteer.
If you feel you can assist in this important role, please contact Sgt Graham Thorne at Crowthorne police station on 0845 8 505 505 or by calling in and speaking to a volunteer.
